According to Webda, MUMS Chancellor announced that development and expansion of hospital and pre-hospital emergency is one of the main plans of the university, toward the goal of extending its services and enhancing satisfaction of patients. “Emergency departments of hospitals should be staffed by the most skilled personnel. Recruiting nurses is an important, high-priority program, , especially in emergency care centers, which should be planned in a way that the best services are provided in the shortest time,” said Dr. Mohammad Reza Darabi at a meeting with his Vice President for Treatment and treatment administrators. He emphasized, “MUMS follows the same policies as those of Ministry of Health and the Government, seeking the benefit of people and improvement of service quality in all areas, including education, healthcare and treatment. Health and treatment is the university’s Achilles heel, and quality of the relevant services should be continually monitored and evaluated.” “Procurement of medical equipment based on priorities and requirements is another important program. A centralized system should be designed to continuously monitor requirements and shortcomings of all hospitals in real-time, and to purchase and supply equipment according to priorities and needs of the patients,” he added. Dr. Darabi referred to the widespread activity of unauthorized traditional medicine centers all over Iran, saying, “Some individuals with no scientific [knowledge] and academic certificates endanger people’s health in these centers with misleading advertisement, and this issue needs to be addressed.” Provision of specialist staff in other cities of the province was another point emphasized by MUMS Chancellor who said, “We should plan in a way that specialists in important disciplines are dispatched equitably and according to regional development planning documents, in order to negate the need to refer patients to other cities.” |
