Strategic plan of women's health research center of MUMS

Mashhad women research center has been established with the aim of maintenance and promotion of women health to perform scientific and applied research on women health issues in order to disseminate research culture. Strategic plan of this research center with emphasis on fertility health is described in two parts:

General goals of women research center

• Giving priority to gynecological research
• Maintenance and enhancement of women research, conducting and facilitating conditions of researchers' capacity for research
• Making an organized system in women research
• Communication with industry sector
• Cooperation with other research centers and coordination of related parts and centers
• Periodic evaluation of the center's function

Specific goals of women research center

  1. Giving priority to gynecological research

• determination of research requirements from gynecological academic staff and related faculties
• determination of research requirements based on information gathered from health and treatment sources of the University and HSR needs
• determination of research requirements based on community needs
• collection and summation of related previous researches in University and evaluation and use of results
• prioritizing based on the above information

  2. Maintenance and enhancement of women research, conducting and facilitating conditions of researchers' capacity for research

• Declaration of research priorities
• Establishment of indices for selecting outstanding researchers and their appreciation
• Financial and intellectual support of interested investigators
• Giving incentives and self confidence to students and participating them in presentation and conduct of research programs
• Establishing research method workshops
• Enabling the use of researchers of scientific sources and libraries at home and abroad
• Enabling inter sector cooperation
• Presenting research counseling by experts to researchers (establishing research counseling section)

  3. Making an organized system in women research

• Approving plans based on declared priorities
• Coordinating requirements of education and research sections of women
• Relating basic and clinical research
• Collection and summation of research results and establishing a data bank
• Proper introduction of women data bank to other scientific and research centers
• Supporting results and identification and presentation of required approaches

  4. Communication with industry sector

• Introduction of research center capacity to respond to industry needs
• Identifying obstacles and limitations between University and industry
• Utilizing successful experiences in this field by national research center
• Attempting to make joint ventures and gain industry support

  5. Cooperation with other research centers and coordination of related parts and centers

• Coordinating with national women research center
• Active communication with other research centers at home and abroad
• Enabling use of center data bank by other research centers

  6. Periodic evaluation of the center's function

• Determination of function evaluation indices according to strategic plans and ethic principles
• Evaluating the function of center twice per year and reflection of results to authorities
• Demanding function evaluation report from related units every three months
• Regular council sessions to evaluate plan reports
