Surgery ward
Surgery ward of Dr.Sheikh Hospital is directed by skillful professors and experienced nurses. Many children and infants refer from near and far areas of the province or even neighbor provinces to this high specialized center to receive diagnostic and therapeutic measures.

This ward has 23 beds, two incubators and four beds in NICU and recently 6 private rooms have been added to this ward.
Different surgery operations are done in this high specialized ward to improvement patients' health, such as surgeries on:
Esophageal agenesis, imperforate anus, gastroshezi, omphalocele, vesica-therapy. Hypospadias, epispadias, intersex, gastromasses like wilms & nephroblastomatosis bronchoscopy & drainage of abscesses, choledochus cyst, hernia and hydrocele and circumcision, harelip, orchiopexy, appendectomy and.....
In this ward statistic and research unit of surgical ward has been established since 2006 that statistic and information of bedridden patients in this ward are collected by two general practitioners and these information are used for research projects as raw data.
Activities

Providing training pamphlets

Providing statistic of done surgery operations in separation of variation and number since 2002 until now.

Providing related information to rare diseases like vesica x- therapy, intersex ,....

Providing and completing IHPS, esophageal artesia, GI atresia, hirshprung, invagination, imperforated annus, hernia, appendicitis, UDT, hypospadias, VUR, VPJO questionnaires.

Providing different CPC s and presenting them.

Providing case Reports and essays of rare diseases.
Educational Activities:
-
Patients are visited by physicians and intern's everyday and training round is held. Stagers participating twice a week in the ward round.

Morning report is done on Monday mornings and common session of radiology, surgery and internal of children is held on Wednesdays that usually some special cases are discussed.

Presence of some interns is necessary in surgery room every day.

Journal club is held on Thursdays, in addition two days a week training clinic is held for interns
