Activities of social working

1- Discount of patient’s therapeutic expenses ( hospitalized, out patients ) is the main duty of social working office. It takes a long time for social working to review the patient’s financial status and resolve their problem in payment of therapeutic expense ( discount in expenses) including visit, medical equipments, laboratory, radiology, hospitalization, reception and discharge for surgical operation and medical treatment that are done with regard to expert reviews about patient’s economical situation.

2- Cooperation with therapy team:

-Cooperation with doctors and reception in relation with introducing out patients and hospitalized patients to social working. They do this with regard to their social and therapeutic problems and diagnosis the kind of their disease. They have a direct relation with doctors and preserve the patients who are alone and without any accompanier in the cases of visit, surgery, etc. They refer the patients who are introduced from different centers to central clinics and units for visit and if necessary hospitalization of disable and nursery children.

3- Research and review in the case of recognizing social, economical and family problems.

 

-The recognition of patient’s problems through their daily reference to various units of hospital, their contact with a doctor and other therapeutic personnel and negotiation with them:

- Visiting their family’s home if necessary for resolving problems especially financial problems.

 

 

- looking after child patients who are done, without accompanier and have complicated problems and therapies, and visiting them

- Providing medical equipments for qualified patients of social working who are alone or have a poor family and following up their affairs

- Consultation and interview with their parents for resolving existing problems in the way of therapy, particularly taking satisfaction for doing surgical operation and improving their mood & comforting them.

 

4- Calling with therapeutic, hygienic, educational and institutions in relation with patient’s problems.

-Referred hospitalized and out patients to other hospitals if necessary and sending headless and foundling patients to orphanage after recovery by competent authorities.

-Refer patient’s parents or accompanying them to public and non- public organizations for receiving necessary aids.

 

5- Insuring particular and incurable patients and also poor patients. One of social working objectives in hospital is insuring particular and incurable patients. In this case, we could take effective steps by support of Sarvar foundation and also some respectable expert doctors in hospital. But we have had problems for the reason of these patients particularly in weak and poor level of rural and urban societies.

-Insuring the patients is important for several reasons, meanwhile, by insuring them, the right of hospital should not be lost, and insurance company pays 90% or 75% of therapy expense of hospital. Continuing of therapy and following up is easier with insurance book particularly for needy patients. The support of dear executives and benefactors is very important for appropriation of budget insurance.

6- Providing and regulating education, entertainment, and hygienic programs for helping the patients.

-Social working has tried to provide the relative welfare facilities for these beautiful blossoms who spend most of their life time in hospital particularly for specific patients who spend more time in this place by the support executives and benefactors. These facilities are as follows:

-Providing children cartoon and educational films, providing toys, and thoughtful games for children above 5 years old, providing napkin and powdered milk for some infant patients in ICU.

 

7- Meeting the expenses of commuting, temporary houses (dormitory), and providing food. It can be said that most attempts and sensitivity of social working is meeting the expenses of commuting patients especially for particular ones.

-Providing suitable nutrition (protein and vitamin) for these dears who suffer from financial inability of paying the hospital expenses, we could support them with the help of community, and introducing them to renal patient’s dormitory and etc. The support of respectable members of Sarvar foundations and benefactors which is very limited, but is helpful.
