Dialysis Ward

Dr. Sheikh hemodialysis ward was opened on May 2006 by chairmanship of Dr. Mohammad Esmaili. This center is the only children hemodialysis ward and the only high specialized children center in all over Khorasan, and covers all patients in Khorasan. It gives services to patients who need ward in two shifts of morning and afternoon, the evening shift is on-call and emergency patients who needs dialysis are accepted.

 

Number of active beds are 7 and it covers 30 patients who are dialyzed three times a week. Special cloths are given to patients and they are weighed in order to get ready for dialysis. This ward has 6 formal personnel who are experienced and have had necessary training for three months to do children dialysis by head nurses Mrs. Motamedi and Mr. Behgam in this center.

Patient are trained about self care for shunt catheter and nutrition at home during dialysis, use of drugs, health and cleanliness and training for giving self-employed insurance.

social workers help needy patients giving complementary forums of special patients and doing monthly tests, three months and six months tests are done by this ward's personnel. Completing forums of support association of renal patients and guiding about transplantation from corpse and doing tests that monthly ones are routine for all dialysis patients but TIBC iron, ferritin and albumin once in three months are added to it. 6 month tests are routine tests in addition to antigens, TG, cholesterol, urine acid. If the patient needs hormonal diagnosis tests are also added and if he needs growth hormone, he will be cured under supervision of endocrinologist. Radiography, EKG is also done yearly or every six months.

Ward systems has 4 Fresenius which are checked monthly by Red Crescent medical preparations company. 4 Gambro systems which are checked monthly by Tehran Therapist Company.

This center is equipped by RO system which is checked by engineers of Matlab Kish Company twice a year.

Ward accepts 4-18 years old patients who are emergency cases or are introduced by office.

Patients of this ward are mostly poor and needy who cannot afford high cost of drugs. They should be helped by rich people. Some times they receive some help from support association of renal patients and social work office.

Patient visit is done by 3 nephrologists of this ward. Dr. Esmaili visits patients and writes prescription three days a week, on odd days. Dr. Nasseri and Dr. Ghaneh visit their patients three days a week, in even days.

Filter set and necessary equipments are received from treatment deputy by head nurse demand and sending all patients static to treatment deputy every month.
