Activities:
Training activities for parents are done under supervision of respectable director of ward, Mrs. Jami, which are as follow:
1. Face-to-Face training such as training classes for mothers and training process of Neutrogena and patients under chemotherapy.
2. Providing training pamphlet for parents during their presence in the ward.
3. Providing various posters for increasing mothers' knowledge about different diseases and their prevention.
4. Providing scientific articles on the ward's board by nursing students.
5. Holding seasonal ceremonies, celebrations and birthday parties to make patients happy.
6. Holding special programs for Norooz (Iranian new year) with cooperation of ward doctors and personnel and social working unit.
7. Holding training programs for ward personnel related to nursing cares of chemotherapy patients, drugs and their effects.
Different training programs by respected professors to increase students awareness:
1. Holding morning report sessions with presence of professors, residents, interns and stages, question and answers about diagnosis of disease and patients therapy method.
2. Holding journal club and providing lasted issues and scientific achievement by residents under supervision of professors.
3. Holding students rounds on the patients in the ward and discussion about different diseases.
4. Holding training classes for interns and stagers at the end of ward work.
Statistics and information unit activities:
1. Record of accepted patients' information and statistics in respect to the number of accepted cases, number of deaths, primary diagnosis, final diagnosis, condition of released time.
2. Providing accepted patients' statistics and information in internal ward (hematology) monthly in the form of table and chart.
3. Providing separate questionnaires for hematology disease such as (ALL-AML-neuroblastoma- rhabdomyosarcoma, wilms' tumor, U wing's sarcoma, fever and Neutrogena, Hodgkin's lymphoma, non-Hodgkin's lymphoma).
4. Completion of questionnaires for each kind of patient and providing their results as a research project.
5. Providing a five year statistics of internal ward (hematology) by referring to the registry.
6. Collecting of new patient's information afflicted by leukemia including complain at the time of referring, lab signs and immunophenotype Para clinic and therapy diet and disease effects.
7. collecting information and reporting new cases of solid tumor (rhabdomyosarcoma, U-wing's sarcoma, Wilms' tumor, neuroblastoma, non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, Hodgkin's lymphoma)
8. Collecting patient's information, afflicted by fever and neutropenia and providing results as a research project.
9. Collecting new cases of malignancy in 83 and its report to Iran Children Cancer Association.
10. Information gathering of UTI patients, stone, glomerulonephritis crescentic, VUR, anorexia, glomerulopathy and providing questionnaire.
11. Cooperation in CF clinic and providing questionnaire for patient and record them in file and participation in this clinic research projects.
Diagnostic and therapeutic activities
1. Doing aspiration and biopsy of marrow by professors and residents to diagnosis disease in chemotherapy unit.
2. Doing biopsy of kidneys by nephrologists under sonography guide.
3. Doing dialysis of acute peritoneal.
4. Doing chronic peritoneal dialysis (CAPD)
