Inflammation of noise mucus because of allergic reactions is called Allergic Rhinitis.
It is one of the most prevalent sensitivity that has affects on children. It may be seasonal or non-seasonal.
The seasonal type or hay fever appears only in particular months of the year. By inhalation of allergens, the allergic reaction starts. These are usually herbal pollens. Other irritant factors include mite in dust, hair of animals or mold powder. This disease is prevalent in infants under six-months old. Allergic reactions don’t have relation with food stuffs (milk & egg).
Clinical Symptoms:
The main signs are as follows:
Feeling itchy in eyes, nose and pharynx, drip and nose congestion, sneeze, redness, irritation and eye drip and seldom chap.
Diagnosis:
Test of snot sample regarding existence of eosinophils and dermal test to identify aggressive elements or test of RAST (Radioimmunity Alergro Sorbent Immunoassay) to find immunology bullion antibodies specific antigens in serum are done.
Treatment:
Although minimum touch can help in reduction of signs, mostly using drugs are necessary. Anti-Allergies like Diphenhydramine, Chlorpheniramine most often are used to reduce the secretions of mucus and itch. Correct consumption of drug and observance defined dosage by doctor are very important for patient because high consumption of some drugs may make reflexive reaction and cause nosebleed. Also consumption of these drugs has complications such as xerostomia, constipation, thrill, excitability, sleepiness,…
Prognosis:
Allergic Rhinitis is reduced by increase of ago in many children and faded gradually.
Instruction to parents:
If an irritant factor is known, try to break contact with that factor. It is better for a child affected to hay fever to stay at home as possible in seasons when pollination occurs. When the amount of pollen is high particularly in warm and dry air that breeze bellows, close the windows. The children who have allergy to hair of animals should be kept far from animals. If mite in dust has caused allergy, clean the house. Clean dust with wet handcar chief everywhere. Don’t use mattress, quilt and pillow full of feather. If your child has allergy to mold, be sure of convenient ventilation of child's room and lack of mold. |
Allergy is a situation which immune system doesn’t response suitably against materials in. As a result, a reaction occurs that covers wide domain of signs including rash, cough or regurgitation. If there is allergy in child's relative background, the possibility of occurring allergy will be higher for her/him.
How does an allergy reaction occur?
The immune system of body reacts to evasions by producing antibody and becoming sensitive of white blood cells. These white blood cells brome sensitive and identify exogenous and destroy them. Allergic reaction has similar process too. In this way that the immune system becomes sensitive against that element at the first contact with allergen (irritant) .This reaction may occurs when a chemical is contacting with skin, a food is eaten, suspended particles in air (like pollen) are entered to body by inhalation. Also insect's sting and interjection or consumption of some drugs can cause this reaction too. In some cases, this allergic reaction may be more severe and threatening for life or have signs of itch eye, nose and pharynx, rash, nausea, regurgitation and diarrhea…. It is clear that the best way of treatment is prevention of allergy, prevention of allergen elements.
