Dr. Shariati Hospital History

Dr. Ali Shariati Hospital was established in 1330, and its first name was Tuberculosis Nursery. It is located in the Villashar 3, Torghabeh, Shandiz, in the 22947 meter square of Nochah village. |

Dr. Shariati Hospital was founded by the efforts of Tuberculosis Society of Khorasan, Dr. Mosa Hejazi, and Haj Abbas TavakoliZadeh. The purposes of founders were to provide care for tuberculosis patients. Since Dr. Hijazi had spent all his time and efforts to help poor and sick patients, he gradually lost his strength, and got different sicknesses |

In 1357 after Islamic Revolution, with Imam Khomini leadership, “Tuberculosis Nursery” name was changed to “Dr. Ali Shariati”, and care for tuberculosis patients was transferred to the Taleghani Hospital. In the 1372, again tuberculosis care were returned to the Dr. Shariati Hospital, and Pulmonary Clinic of this hospital was activated with 24 beds |

Finally at 1332 he passed away with stroke and blindness. His body was buried in the hospital yard according to his wish. Now his tomb after repair is ready to be visited by the visitors |
