International Symposium on Saffron

Pharmaceutical Research Center, Mashhad University of Medical Sciences is pleased to announce that the International Symposium on Saffron: a herbal medicine of 3rd millennium will be held at the Pardisan Hotel, Mashhad, Iran from 13 to 14 May, 2009 as a joint event with the Non-government fund for promotion of export of saffron.
The joint event is directed to students, researchers, and other health professionals interested in the main advances in the medical knowledge of Saffron (Crocus sativus). The joint event will include renowned lecturers from Iran and abroad, discussing the various topics relevant to Saffron research, such as pharmacology and toxicology, ethnopharmacology, chemistry, and standardization.
The focus area of the conferences will address on same of the crucial and contemporary issue on Saffron related to its promotion and development with international coordination in exploring its quality, efficacy and safety.
The event will include plenary lectures, round tables, coordinated sessions and posters. Additionally, special sessions are being organized to comprehensively discuss selected genera to be defined and announced soon.
