Current research interests include cellular and molecular biology of cytokines as signalling molecules with a pivotal role in cell-cell interactions, mediator of inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, allergic diseases and understanding their mechanism of action is providing novel strategies for use in the development of anti-inflammatory drugs. Polymorphism within cytokine, cytokine receptor, and receptor antagonist genes has been identified in a growing number of cases but in most instances, few if any systematic polymorphism studies have been reported. In my laboratory we are investigating the Cytokine Polymorphism and study the genomic variability that characterizes genes encoding certain cytokine molecules.
Other research interest involves study of anti-proliferative effect of herbal and natural products against tumor cell lines in vitro.                                                                                                                                                     TOP
