Mashhad University of Medical Sciences
Omid Educational Hospital of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences, is one of the best center with the advanced facilities available for the best cancer treatment and follow-up research and treatment of cancer patients in the country and patients from surrounding provinces (Golestan, Mazandaran, Sistan and baluchestan, Kerman) and is responsive to all Khorasan province.
| This hospital was established before the revolution by the people as an outpatient clinics with a cobalt machine and after the Islamic revolution, it was run under the health ministry in 1980, as an independent unit in Mashhad (Khorasan) under the Cancer Central Organization in Tehran with significant activity in the service needs of patients, and finally was transferred to Mashhad University of Medical Sciences in 1989. |

1981 till 1989, eight-floor building connected to hospital clinics were built. One of the very effective operation was construction and completion, and equipping the practice rooms - the CSR recovery room which could give services to cancer patients for radiotherapy and chemical therapy treatments (using drugs) and surgical treatment aspects of cancer. |
In 1989 a full operating room was completed and only one section with 25 bed hospital was active.
Hospital cares for 8000 patients per month in outpatients clinic and follow-up oncology patients, surgery, pathology, laboratory, studied the heart and lungs before surgery, pharmacy, chemical therapy and radiotherapy.
Rare surgical problem in cancer treatment are done for the first time in Iran and in this hospital with very good results.
Medical Database Topics related to cancer, including scientific books, journals, publications numerous albums and color slides are the content of the new scientific library and computer unit in hospital. It is for members of respectable academic members - residence training groups and internships for their scientific articles, research, and dissertations.
