The First Seminar of Stem Cells, Tissue Engineering and Reconstructive Medicine in Bone and Cartilage Repair
The first Seminar of Stem Cells, Tissue Engineering and Reconstructive Medicine in Bone and Cartilage Repair was held and hosted by Orthopedic Research Institute of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences.
According to WebDa, this seminar was held on December 14th and 15th, 2016 in Shahid Chamran Hall in Ghaem Hospital of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences to exchange ideas and present the latest national and international achievements about the application of stem cells, tissue engineering and reconstructive medicine in treating patients with Osteochondral (cartilage) lesions, bone and joint problems.
This seminar was held with the collaboration of the Presidential Scientific and Technological Deputy, Bone and Cartilage Committee of Presidential Stem Cell Organization, Knee Surgery Association, Iran Sports Medicine Society and Medical Sciences Universities of Mashhad, Tehran, the Army, and Jahad-e Daneshghahi.
In this regard, Dr. Mohammad Hossein Ebrahimzadeh, head of Orthopedic Research Institute of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences asserted: in this seminar, doctors and surgeons of Orthopedics, Knee and Sports Medicine, and specialists, researchers and scientist of Tissue Engineering, Biomaterials Engineering, Biomechanics Engineering, Medical Engineering and the related majors participated.
The scientific secretary of the Seminar of Stem Cells, Tissue Engineering and Reconstructive Medicine in Bone and Cartilage Repair emphasized: considering the fact that most old and conventional methods have not yet provided a desirable solution for the patients and physicians, in this seminar, a new branch of this science was elaborated focusing on treating chondral (cartilage) lesions in young patients and sports people to achieve more efficient results for the country through offering strategies for chondral lesions treatment and research.
Indicating that 150-170 individuals participated in the First Seminar of Stem Cells, Tissue Engineering and Reconstructive Medicine in Bone and Cartilage Repair, he pointed out: we had some guest participants in this seminar from United States, Malaysia, Dubai and Turkey.
