The first International Neuroinflammation Congress and the first Student Festival of Neuroscience were hosted by Mashhad University of Medical Sciences.
According to Webda, the Congress was held April 11-13 with topics including neuroinflammation and neurodegeneration; neuroinflammation and demyelination; regeneration, stem cells and neuroimmunomodulation; neuroinflammation in neurological diseases; pathophysiology, management and treatment in neuroinflammations; animal models of neuroinflammation; neuroinflammation and neuroimaging; mechanisms of neuroinflammation; neuroinflammation and behavior; neuroinflammation across the life span; novel methods in neuroinflammation; neuroinflammation and rehabilitation; and novel anti-inflammatory drugs and blood-brain barrier.
Head of the Department of Neuroscience at Mashhad University of Medical Sciences said, "For the first time in Iran, Student Festival of Neuroscience was held as part of the International Neuroinflammation Congress in Mashhad."
Professor Gorji added, "The purpose of this congress was promoteing neurosciences in Iarn. In addition to improving neurosciences in clinical and research fields, we were trying to establish bonds between our students and the invitee professors and students from Germany."
"The Congress was held over three days at the School of Medicine and Mashhad Ghaem Hospital, and we tried to enable students to take advantage of the planned workshops as well. According to the plan, winners of the Best Student Paper Award will receive a totally free 3 month research and educational program in Germany," he said.
Professor Gorji noted, "The invitees selected for participating in the Congress were students and professors from both Iran and Germany. Concurrent whit the Congress, the National Hub 9 meeting on development of neurosciences was also hosted in Mashhad, providing an opportunity for knowledge promotion and exchange in neurosciences.
