Medical toxicology research center (MTRC) was founded in October 2007 in School of Medicine, Mashhad University of Medical Sciences (MUMS), Mashhad, I R Iran.
MTRC is a research center with qualified experts in basic and clinical research capabilities, including two professors, four associate professors, and four assistant professors (half of them are part time) with remarkable profile of publications at national and international levels. This made a stunning chance of capabilities for nearly all aspects of toxicological research.
MTRC has close cooperation with universal and continental organizations, including World Health Organization (WHO), Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), Asia Pacific Association of Medical Toxicology (APAMT). It has also joint research projects with Newcastle and Edinburgh Universities.
The center, owns a specialized library and laboratories, has close cooperation with poisoning treatment center in Imam Reza hospital (MUMS) for the establishment of clinical toxicology fellowship for the first time in Iran and Asian countries. It has also effective role for upgrading the educational, investigational and therapeutic levels of the department.
