Present Director of MTRC was the founder of medical toxicology center (MTC). He and his associates’ research publications in the National and International Medical Journals since 1973 onfirm the long research activities of this center.
He has been president of Asia Pacific Association of Medical Toxicology (APAMT) between 1993 and 2001. Prof. Balali has also been appointed as a member of Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) of the Organization for Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) in July 2004 and has served as the Vice- Chairman of SAB since February 2005. He has also had joint research projects with Edinburgh and Newcastle Universities of the UK. His collaboration with Newcastel University in teaching and research leaded to his appointment as a visiting professor of Newcastel University in April 2005. He is now supervised a PhD student in this University.
