Mission
The MUMS Libraries mission is to enhance the teaching, research, and service activities of the Mashhad University of Medical Sciences and to support the University in its quest to improve health, by facilitating timely access to information needed by library clients on campus, throughout country, and nationwide.
The values on which our mission statement is based include:
- Service - The Library staff provides the best possible service to all clients in a timely, accurate and complete manner.
- Innovation - The Library staff continually employs creative approaches in services and resources, utilizing new technologies and information formats.
- Teamwork - The Library staff works together as a team to achieve each individual's highest potential for service and innovation.
- Leadership - The Library staff shares its expertise in the use of information and information technology.
Vision

To acquire, organize and preserve outstanding print and electronic collections of scholarly medical information

To interpret, instruct and educate students and faculty in their use through the promotion and teaching of information literacy skills

To provide client-centered access to and assistance in the use of these resources based on an appreciation of user preferences, expectations and work habits

To facilitate access to information by participating in resource sharing and collaborative programs

To ensure user satisfaction by delivering high-quality responsive services and resources.

To create an open, inviting and user-friendly library environment, both physical and virtual, that is responsive to the needs of teaching and research at MUMS, and other scholarly communities, like medical universities.
